My Motivation
Why Youth?
Crossing daily at three or four in the morning the Tijuana/ San Diego International Border was one of the greatest challenges that I have experienced. I was eleven years old with a family of nine crossing daily with their blue old van and using the park or a store's parking lot as a home.
The border also separated my family for many years because my dad lived and worked in Santa Barbara and visited us only on the weekend in Tijuana. Growing up along the border was challenging, but today the border is part of my profession and passion.

The Hansen Summer Institute on Leadership and International Cooperation is an exciting international program. The program provides a unique University-based leadership experience and program in international cooperation.

Helped established two important cross-border partnership with two Mexican institutions. Organized youth and the community to rehabilitate their community park.
Strategic Leadership and Partnership Consulting for The "Me Project" Expo with Gente Bonita Magazine.
This was a one-day expo event for youth held in the auditorium of the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park where Hispanic youth had the opportunity to explore and experience different industries such as technology, blog writing, digital content, and more. We had more than 250 attendees.
Baja Urban Youth Program
Did you know that at Baja Urban, we have a youth program where we help Hispanic youth and their parents become aware of scholarships and opportunities? We do this through participating in community events and through our Facebook Group where we publish interviews and content in Spanish.
